Ads aside, what’s been infuriating me lately is that YouTube seems to have degraded the quality of existing videos and locked the previously available quality behind the “1080p Enhanced Bitrate”; I have no way of confirming this since I obviously don’t have Premium, but I’m fairly sure that the regular 1080p of old videos that I rewatch from time to time (uploaded 2-3 years ago or earlier) is now worse than it was. If it was about new uploads with something previously unavailable, it would’ve been somewhat understandable. Something also tells me that the paid tier is also going to get ads eventually.

Looks like a knockoff to me. Look at the “Backspace” lettering up close for example.
I wrote “could easily cost 10 times more”, which doesn’t exclude an even higher price. $100-$150 for just the case (I couldn’t find the exact one) is what I’d expect.
I was even thinking just about the case - good CNCd aluminium has come down in price, but it’s still expensive. You also have a point, I agree.
Ironically enough, talking about cutting expenses, the keyboard in the photo could easily cost 10 times more than the typical 100% keyboard you’d find in a corporate office.
I don’t really mind. The only high bandwidth thing I use on my work laptop is the USB-C for my displays. If I ever plug something into the rest of the ports, it would be a mouse/keyboard/headset and none of those require anything more than USB 2.0.
It’s not even that much of a pain. I’m mostly dealing with TypeScript, very rarely vanilla JavaScript, and it’s even enjoyable most of the time.

I’m a hobbyist photographer. Facebook and Instagram are my main outlets to show off my work right now. Fortunately my livelihood doesn’t depend on that hobby, but I’d still rather have the online presence.
Same sentiment here. Coming from Opera (in the days it had its own engine) and having been using Vivaldi as my daily since its first public preview, native mouse gestures is the thing I miss the most from Firefox.
I know that the folks at Vivaldi are pretty strongly against the manifest v3 thing, but seems like at one point they’ll have to fold.
