It’s famously difficult to implement your own time-based systems that also deal with timezones.
Ya know, I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t want to work with someone like you either, who seems to jump to conclusions based on an off-hand comment I made that wasn’t meant to be particularly cynical.
My main point of the previous comment is that it has nothing to do with JAVASCRIPT, just the developer on the other end. Drawn whatever conclusions you want from that assertion

That is EXACTLY why I don’t understand why someone wouldn’t just use an NPM package that already has all that stuff sorted out. Could you imagine trying to code to deal with different time zones?
Forget about it.
I mean wouldn’t any sensible developer just use one of the many npm packages that do count down from UTC?
Which would also be using JavaScript?
Sorry I don’t mean to quibble it’s just that imo JavaScript has nothing to do with this faulty countdown, it has to do with the developer overlooking edge cases.
To be fair though the article kind of sucks.
He’s not being held in a hospital for life, he’s being held indefinitely. Which is absolutely the correct decision considering his abilities and record of hacks

Basically free pizza for life. It’s not predatory, And it’s insane to me that people post articles, even in a comment, without reading them. Because if you had read the article “predatory” would be the furthest thing for your mind. It’s just a gimmick promotion to increase sales

I’ll tell you my experience. I onboardeed to a new job 2 months ago.
It’s not a permanent position, it’s contractor for 6 months with the possibility of renewing at the end.
It’s 52$/hour, fully remote, amazing work life balance.
It was down to this job vs an 100% in-person role that would be more development focused. But the pay was a little less.
I’m so happy with the decision I made, but only you can know what’s right for you.
