There’s a scene from Treasure of the Sierra Madre that’s almost the exact same thing. Great movie.

I have both the 13 and the 16. Absolutely love them.
Sometimes what’s worse is when I am pretty sure something they suggest won’t fix the bug and then it does fix it. Like I experienced a race condition in my Android email app and talked to support about it. They said try clear app data / cache and see if it worked. I thought there is no way that would solve it and they’re just giving be the boilerplate support thing. It did fix it.
Now I’m even more scared at what their code is doing.
I agree, but would like to add I find AI generated code without thought or care put into understanding it more offensive than this to begin with.
Seriously, every time I see null interpolated in a receipt or email I always think “you fucking donkeys”.
I’d argue there should be a flat out cap on wealth. Nobody should have 500 billion dollars. Not sure what it should be, but somewhere under 500 billion.
Rust is amazing. I’ve been using it for six years now. Being strict is exactly what you want when building anything more complex than fizzbuzz. It’s just that people aren’t used to it so it makes them uncomfortable enough to not attempt to learn it or see how beneficial it is.
Isn’t the terminal only going to affect performance when it’s displayed in stdout? I’d think a program like find / using pipes would send the data under the hood and all that the terminal would deal with would be the output of the entire command.
Good! Thank you.
It’s an interesting question. I’m not sure what I think.
I would say gambling is more of a child’s game which is made bad for adults by making it about too important because of money. Lots of board games could be considered gambling if they used real money, so I’m not against that.
Definitely against banning end to end encryption.
Kids cigarettes - I had them as a child and thought they were cool, but then I also never took up smoking. I tried it once or twice but that’s it. Never had any desire to actually do it. IMO it probably depends on how you’re raised and your environment. I also watched a bunch of violent movies, but haven’t gotten into a real fight yet and not a violent person.
IMO thinking candy cigarettes cause kids to take up smoking seems similar to thinking GTA causes kids to commit crimes.
What it comes down to for me is that we’re human beings and have brains. If someone is influenced by candy or games to take up smoking, gambling, and crime, then they are dumb as fuck anyway and their parents and teachers have completely failed them. That’s the real problem.
You can log into non-world instances using world credentials?
lemmy.world isn’t run by communists
Ideas stand for themselves. A lot of times tweets are just run by some intern anyway.
You could suggest they go to Mastodon and reference other companies which do. There are probably easy integrations for them so that they can just automate their tweets to both Mastodon and Twitter at the same time.
The dev updated it a couple days ago so you could get Pro / ad-free with a one time payment.
That’s the whole point. That’s a good thing.
