I thought Fight Club was a boxing movie and had no interest in seeing it. I only saw it because I tried downloading Jackass on Kazaa and it ended up being Fight Club. The intro had me hooked.

Pascal’s little-known friend Luigi’s wager.
Is boot time that much of an issue besides for arbitrary competitive reasons? I haven’t tried any optimizations and boot time on my headless server is less than two seconds.
If you pay with your CC and sign the receipt after seeing the total, you’re going to have a very hard time getting it removed.
”On a scale of 1 to 10, how often do you think about killing yourself?”
“Uhhh… 3?”
”That’ll be $40”
Not only that - they’re dying in the street immediately adjacent to vacant luxury condos.
It seems silly to be distrustful of proprietary BIOS firmware without having the same skepticism of the actual hardware.
I had a linux 5520 and it was terrible. Standby and bluetooth never worked properly. Are the new models any better?
I think it’s more like “snuck up on us” than any kind of nefarious connotation. Kind of like “how did a niche game like BG3 sneak into the top ten games list”?
You do know what “cinematic” means, yes? Most shots in cinema aren’t meant to seem like they’re seen from the perspective of an actual person.
to render the most clean game possible
Why do you think the goal is to make something “clean” looking? You know what’s clean looking? Asteroids, Battlezone, etc. Many games are going for a more cinematic look, in which case CA, film grain, etc. can seem natural. As long as there’s an option to disable it, I don’t see why people take such objection to its presence.
Are you certain it’s actually safe? There was a recent attack in which multiple Steam publisher accounts were hijacked to spread malware.
Just read both Al Jazeera and The Jerusalem Post and take the average.
Where my 4.19 gang at?
I subscribe to M365 because my kids’ schools all distribute their assignments as Word docs. And they apparently use the most obscure formatting features, so the only way to get them to render and print properly is to use full Office desktop. Not even the web apps show them properly, and LibreOffice / google docs import totally mangle them.
This map is completely meaningless. The local value of “one money” in each country’s currency varies massively. A Coke might cost 1 dollar in Australia but cost 1000 won in South Korea, but Australians make 50,000 dollars per year while South Koreans make 3,500,000 won per year.
Only if they are well-known in the language you’re using or domain you’re writing for. x
and y
are fine for coordinates. i
and j
are fine for loop indices. But abbreviating things unnecessarily is bad IMO. s = GetSession()
is too terse, for example.
That’s why your phone has a brightness slider, or better yet an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness. DE will need something similar.
Joke’s on you - my back hurts all the time!
Right? Most of the time when I build linux I’m not using GNU because of its burdensome license. Realistically you usually don’t need most of the binaries anyway, and those you do like
echo
andls
are trivial to reimplement, at least for their common functionality.
