Vasectomies rule

What does an abortion cost when you pay cash? What’s the average child support payment? How much do you have in savings to put towards a large medical expense for a child (such as a birth or severe injury).

Just some thought-provoking questions to put the cost in perspective.

I knew this question was coming. It’s not like traditional methods of birth control are suddenly not options.

The reality is, if you don’t have $800 extra, you don’t have $800. But a $15 box of condoms, on the other hand? You could buy ≈50 of those for $800.

Not saying it’s therefore the superior option, just that the upfront cost is easier to swallow—if you’re unfortunate enough to have to worry about such things, anyway.

The reality here is that if you really have “a love of creampies” and a “fear of having kids” then vasectomy is really going to be your best option. Wasting time on condoms is a matter of preference rather than frugality when you’re out of college and working, especially when that workplace offers health benefits, precisely due to the answers to the questions I posed.

    • Paid 700€ for mine (Germany). It’ll pay for itself since we no longer have any other cost for contraceptives. My wife is very happy, too. She had some issues with the pill.

We have two kids. Childcare alone exceeds those 700€ every month ;)

Yep! And I mean, it definitely can save a lot of money in the long run, but $800 can be a lot to swallow as the upfront cost.

You may or may not have insurance, but if you can, talk to your doctor for a referral. Maybe it was just my insurance but my whole op was about $40
