Personally I love oranges but cant stand orange juice.

    Can Americans just switch their spelling back to standard English, please? Why do we have to have two systems of spelling just because the U.S. wanted to be different?

      They didn’t want to be different. They wanted to be cheap. Those extra letters cost money back in the day.

      More first language English speakers now use the American version. Would be easier to switch to it than off it at this point. You could also reframe this as why non Americans insist on using the more antiquated version of the language.

        So, all of the English speaking world spelled one way. You changed some spellings and now you want the rest of the English speaking world to change to your way?
