It’s a traditional conservative society and I wouldn’t call them neoconservative, just because they don’t accept gay/trans folks. Many other people and countries don’t either. In fact, the majority of the world doesn’t. Identity politics is going to doom us in the West.

The reason for the Russian crackdown is bc Civil Society groups in the West, including USAid were using your propaganda against the Russian government in an attempt at Regime Change. You’re being used Grasshopper for geopolitical purposes and your crowd is too ignorant to know.
LGBT+ existence and discussion is literally criminalized by law in Russia, even worse since 2022 cracking down on sexual minorities even harder. People have been already jailed for this by the government, abused for this en masse. Trans people cannot get the medical care they need anymore to transition, leading to misery and suicides.
My and my kin’s right to exist is not idpol, you sick ass.
